Another Jewish story

Friends,
I found this story today and was so blessed, I hope you will be also.

The author is a Jew from the US,a clinical psychologist, who certainly knows how to weave a story.

It begins with...

In my youth I spent every afternoon studying the Hebrew Scriptures, five days a week, and on Friday night and Saturday I worshiped. As I grew older I worshiped for a time each day in the synagogue morning and evening. I would rise before dawn and before going to the morning service, in obedience to rabbinic tradition, I would put on tefillin—the boxes containing God’s law—on my forehead and arm.

Then one cold, clear midwinter night my life was shattered.

The whole story is here

I love reading these testimonies.
"I would rise before dawn and before going to the morning service, in obedience to rabbinic tradition, I would put on tefillin—the boxes containing God’s law—on my forehead and arm."
Who is he trying to fool? First of all we put on Teffilin FOR THE DURATION of the morning services NOT before going to services. Secondly putting on Teffilin before dawn is not correct it's actually to early to put it on. LOL.
But wait, it gets better, "He handed me the Bible and in a millisecond of receiving it, my life was changed. The name that I saw at the top of the page was Isaiah! " So the guy has never read Isaiah and buys the brooklyn brigde without even bothering to find out anything about it.
Thanks for sharing Bob.
It illustrates my point perfectly.
G-d Bless.

Eli, the exact details may be missing from the man; he may have forgotten exactly what happened. But his overarching story is compelling, no matter what your view of his details. I'm glad he shared his story.

Bob,
What's so compelling about a guy who doesn't look both ways before crossing the street?
